After graduating in Media and Communication Studies from the University of Seville, Álvaro Alonso founded LETRA M which was the most prolific producer of shorts in the 1990s, raising a new wave of Andalusian talents.
In 2000, he founded Jaleo Films after completing the Media Business School’s MEGA PLUS programme and produced his first feature film Chiqui Carabante´s CARLOS AGAINST THE WORLD (CARLOS CONTRA EL MUNDO) in 2001. Since then, Jaleo has produced or co-produced more than 30 titles among feature films, documentaries and shorts. Alvaro is on the board of PECAA (Andalusian Production Companies Association) and was its president for two years (2006-2008).
In the last years he has produced a couple of Films out of the industry CARMINA O REVIENTA, first feature film realised simultaneously in all the Windows and EL MUNDO ES NUESTRO first crowfunding feature film release theatrical in Spain.
His last film produced is NIGHT FALL IN INDIA, a Sweden-Rumanian-Spanish coproduction, directed by Chema Rodriguez.
Actually he is involved in a new company specialized in structures film finance by the new Spanish tax shelter squeme
