Carles Montiel has been working in the film distribution business since the very beginning of his professional career. After completing an MBA from the University of Deusto and the Strathclyde University (SGBS), he was part of the first promotion of the MEGA at the MBS in Ronda. He started as an Assistant Producer with the Barcelona based production company, In Vitro Films. Then, he became Marketing Director of Manga Films, releasing titles like TRAFFIC or FAMILY MAN. Later, he moved to Lauren Films, also as a Marketing Director, where he released many Woody Allen films, CHICAGO, THE HOURS, SPY KIDS or FRIDA. After this experience he went tot Universal Pictures Intl., in London, working as International Marketing Director, dealing internationally with films like BRIDGET JONES:THE EDGE OF REASON, RAY, or THE BOURNE SUPREMACY.
Then, he moved to Spain again, working for On Pictures, where he was Director of Marketing & Acquisitions, dealing with some more Woody Allen films like MATCH POINT or SCOOP, and THE READER among many others. Right now, he’s back in Barcelona, his hometown, where he’s the Vice President of WIDE PICTURES, managing titles like EXPENDABLES, THE ROAD, SCREAM 4 or George Clooney’s THE IDES OF MARCH.
