Hans Van Helden | Filmmore

Hans van Helden has over 18 years of hands-on experience in post-production and visual effects. Having managed culturally different crews and clients on more than 50 feature films has given Hans the edge up on anticipating pitfalls from the very beginning. Being completely up-to-date on both traditional and the latest technologies in film he is frequently asked as expert to give masterclasses and lectures.

On all his jobs as post-production supervisor Hans has had full responsibility over the entire post-production process, from budgeting and scheduling to supervising the editing, music, sound, laboratory, grading and foreign delivery elements. All to delivery standards for territories worldwide, within budget and on-time.

As visual effects supervisor his work ranges from music promos and beer commercials to the latest feature film of director Paul Verhoeven; ‘Black Book’ and Brian Yuzna’s ‘Amphibious 3D’. Hans is an active member of the Visual Effects Society and founder and chairman of the Dutch Association of Visual Effects Professionals (NVX).

From 2011 to 2015 Hans was Managing Director of Filmmore Brussels where he was responsible to build up the brand new facility. Filmmore Brussels is now one of the leading postproduction and visual effects houses in Belgium.

Currently Hans is Head of VFX at Filmmore and runs the visual effects departments in Amsterdam, Brussels and Luxembourg.

As a consequence of his frequent work on international co-productions, Hans has lived and worked in different cities all over the world and holds dual passports, both for the EC and the USA.

Hans is member of the Dutch Academy for Film (DAFF) and the European Film Academy (EFA).
