Joe Neurauter is an award-winning film and Emmy-nominated televisión producer. He is the co-founder and principal of Los Angeles-based production and financing company Occupant Entertainment Group with subsidiary companies in London, UK and Munich, Germany (www.occupantent.com). Recent productions include the Sundance-premiering “The Hallow” (2015), directed by Corin Hardy (“The Crow”), the Emmy-nominated original series “Behind The Mask” for Hulu (2013-2015) and the English-language feature film adaptation of “Madame Bovary” (2014) starring Mia Wasikowska, Paul Giamatti and Ezra Miller, which premiered at the Telluride and Toronto Film Festival. The company is currently in pre-production on “Always On My Mind”, a film by “Rock of Ages” creator Chris D’Arienzo, starring Nick Nolte, Glenn Close and Laura Dern.
Joe has raised and structured financing in excess of $50 million through a combination of senior debt, equity, government subsidies and tax-based incentives. His films have frequently been acquired and distributed by major studios and distribution companies including Sony, Universal, Warner Brothers, The Weinstein Company, Eone, Samuel Goldwyn Films and IFC. He has in-depth experience with global production, having overseen productions all over the US and the rest of the world, including Los Angeles, New York City, Texas, North Carolina, Maryland/ Washington D.C. as well as the UK, France, Belgium, and Ireland. Joe has been a guest speaker and panelist at film festivals and industry conferences.
Joe holds a M.F.A. from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinema & Television’s Peter Stark Program and a M.A. in Media Economics from the University of Vienna, Austria.
