Laurence Clerc has a master of Law from Columbia University, New York and a Master of Public Administration from Sciences Po, Paris. She first worked 4 years as Legal and Business Affairs before being appointed General Manager of holding company RF2K, in 2002, and of Fidelite Films in 2007. As General Manager of RF2K, Laurence Clerc has been involved in the financing and management in various audiovisual scope of activity such as television as member of the board of French Cable TV Channels Comédie !, Cuisine TV and Du Côté de Chez Vous TV, and cinema.
In 2007, she is specialized in the film industry by entering Fidelite Films, one major independant film maker in France, for which she handled the financing of foreign language in international films such as Afterwards by Gilles Bourdos shot in the United States, Enter The Void by Gaspar Noé shot in Japan, Maradona by Emir Kusturica shot in Spain and Latin America and Little Nicolas by Laurent Tirardshot in France and Belgium.
In 2011, she went on her own and created Alcatraz Films in partnership with Olivier Thery Lapiney. Alcatraz Films has handled the finance, administration and line producing of “BLUE IS THE WARMEST COLOR” (dir: Abdellatif KECHICHE) recent Golden Palm D’Or winner in Cannes 2013. Alcatraz Films also produced :
“THE BASTARDS” directed by Claire Denis, that had its world premiere in the “Un Certain Regard” section of the Cannes Film Festival 2013 ;
“SIERA NEVADA” directed by Cristi PUIU, in post-production ;
“GODLESS” directed by Ralitza PETROVA, in post-production ;
“PAULA” directed by Christian SCHWOCHOW, currently shooting.
And is now preparing next feature-film by Claire DENIS starring Robert PATTINSON which shooting is scheduled in April 2016.
