The ZAGREB FILM FESTIVAL is held annually, in the third week of October, in Zagreb, capital of Croatia. The festival’s specific goal is to present new authors’ debut – first or second – features, short films and documentary films to our audience. It is a competitive festival with its own award called the GOLDEN PRAM, which is awarded together with an amount of money. Over a hundred films are screened during eight days in the competition program and side film programs, exhibitions and presentations on various locations; the cinema Europa, the cinema Tuškanac, the cinema Grič, Docucinema KIC, Museum of Contemporary Art, Dance Centre and other.
Last year’s festival edition reached 30 000 viewers with over 60 000 people coming to experience various programs of the Zagreb Film Festival. This makes the Zagreb Film Festival one of the biggest and most visited cultural events in Croatia.
Zagreb Film Festival has started its own distribution of independent film titles through the repertoire of the cinema Europa. The aim was to encourage the distribution of quality independent and European films throughout Croatia which hardly reach cinema repertoires.
