Wednesday 04:45, a project developed at Mega Plus, will premiere at Tribeca Film Fest

Greek producer Maria Kontogianni attended the 2011 edition of Mega Plus, the European Master in Audiovisual Managament. During the 10-month course she developed a feature film project: Wednesday 04:45 (GR-DE-IL). The film has now seen the light and it has recently been selected to premiere at the international competition section of Tribeca Film Festival 2015.

When asked about her experience at Mega Plus, Kontogianni explains that “Attending the Mega Plus in 2011 has been an amazing experience which helped me get a deep insight in the world of Film Production and not only. Adding my Greek background into an intense 3-month fermentation with tutors and students coming from different countries has definitely made the world become smaller”.

“Wednesday 04:45 was the project that accompanied my Mega Plus studies and through which I acquired important knowledge on all stages of production. Happily, I worked on the side of Twenty Twenty Vision in Berlin who turned this project into a successful international co-production”, has added the Production Supervisor of the feature film.

Wednesday 04:45 tells the story of Stelios, a jazz club owner. His life’s work becomes a prison when a shady Romanian gangster calls in his debts. This gripping, underworld drama is a parable on the perils of accumulated debt, and a depiction of the descent of a mostly decent man. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Director Alexis Alexiou has perfectly balanced the complex emotions that drive a man to take the most drastic measures available.
